Good Evening North East Music,

My name is Richard and I'm 19 and from Darlington.

I am writing to know the possibility of having my story feature in your website or of any helpful tips that could perhaps help me.

I am setting up a music event in Middlesbrough the 7th September (The Legion) It is a farewell gig for me as I am moving to Portsmouth on the 9th to pursue my career as a Percussionist in the Royal Marines Band Service. I have played drums professionally in and around the UK from 12 years of age, I am having two of my bands plus a friend to play at this event.

The thing that makes this event special is all proceeds go directly to the Holistics Cancer Care Centre at James Cook Hospice, who helped my girlfriends mum with her battle with cancer. My girlfriends mum (Louise) had a genetic type of cancer and got it back a second time, she was a truly INCREDIBLE woman and was if not a local celebrity with her attitude and spirit. She passed away in April after fighting cancer off the first time round. She didn't go without a fight, she walked on hot coal, ran the race for life and many more.

The gig is only £2 to see three great acts! I want to raise as much as possible before I have to leave my friends and family and move away,

Please can you let me know if you would be interested In helping me plug the event, or if you have any helpful contacts I will love you forever. I'm sure me and my girlfriend (Age 20) would be happy to talk about this as we are both passionate about this Charity.

Please get back to me

(I have attached a poster for details)

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

We hear on the grapevine that you will be treated to a gig by Giles King and the Magic Dragons on Saturday 23rd March, and we know they will blow your socks off! The good news is that you can hear them again - on Sunday 24th March, 3 to 5pm, at the Burnside Hotel, Bowness-on-Windermere

The Sunday programme for the Bowness Bay Blues Festival also includes acoustic blues/roots trio Stark, keyboard player and vocalist Dan Burnett, blues fusion band Fuschi4, blues-rock power trio Snakewater, popular local line-up The Elderly Brothers and Cumbrian band The Bullfrogs. The headliner will be highly acclaimed Irish singer and guitarist Grainne Duffy, who has been taking the British blues scene by storm.

All this for only £15 - how can you resist?!

For full line-up and venue details, visit www.bownessbayblues.co.uk Tickets can be booked online or by post or phone (on 015394 43721)

Hello,
I am the producer of a group called 'Elemental Productions' who are based in the North East of England at the University of Sunderland.
We are looking for the possibility of creating a documentary based around the term 'Shelving', I'm sure as you are a musically orientated website you will have heard of this phrase. In the years that have passed by many bands have been 'shelved' and the public does not have knowledge of this situation that is continually being undertaken.
What we aim to produce is a documentary, that shows the effects of bands being 'shelved', their emotions and struggles they go thought within their musical career. Would you have any information that may help us locate a band that has been 'shelved' in the past? Or any other kind of information that may help us in our search to create this breath taking documentary.
Regards,

Ryan Andrew McCollin - Producer (Elemental Productions).

We found your website online and are hoping you could help. We are an acoustic duo who are looking for work around the north east area. We are based in sunderland and south shields however are willing to travel.

We are looking for pub, club or wedding gigs if possible, that would want an acoustic set. We play songs ranging from artists such as Adele, U2, Maroon 5, Jessie J, Paloma Faith, The Beatles, Paolo Nutini and many more. We are very dedicated and enthusiastic musicians and we would be grateful if you could help us, with some gigs or an add on your website.

Tickets for our New Years Eve show at the Adam & Eve Pub in Prudhoe with our pals Borderland are on sale NOW. Not only do you get two bands, but there's an all-night buffet and all for the bargain price of just £12.50 per person.
2007's show sold out and we understand that demand has already been greater this year so please get your tickets from the venue as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.

Best Wishes,
